Mooncake Festival Special: Swensen’s Mooncakes!

When I think about Swensen’s, I think about Ice Cream and indeed, Swensen’s has launched their very own SG50 Moon Gems ice-cream mooncakes!

These mooncakes come with a lantern box, which is complete with LED Light and batteries too!

Now, let’s talk about what matters most, THE MOONCAKES! Available in 6 flavors, they are:
1. Durian Royale
2. Yummy Yam
3. Sticky Chewy Chocolate
4. Lychee Dreams
5. Crunchy Milo
6. Strawberry Fields

Photo 22-8-15 6 00 11 pmIn commemoration of SG50, these moon gems feature the Merlion emblem too!

Sold in boxes of 4 ($35.80), I chose the Milo, Durian, Strawberry and Yam flavors! Honestly, I initially thought that they are just like any other snowskin mooncakes with different flavored fillings. The ice cream within was definitely a pleasant surprise, especially in the heat these days!

I loved the Durian Royale for having that strong tasting flavor, all of us durian lovers would die for. D24 hor! The Crunchy Milo was basically Milo ice cream within the rather thick, chewy mochi like skin. Delicious, but could get you feeling gelat after a while! Nevertheless, a great change for a dessert at home eh?

These moon gems are available from now till 27 September at ALL Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s outlets!

ANZ, BOC, Citibank, Diners, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank, and UOB Cardholders can enjoy an early bird discount of 15% before 15 September and a 10% discount thereafter till 27 September 2015.

Swensen’s Cool Rewards and Kids’ Club membership can enjoy 20% early bird special before 15 Sept and 15% from then till 27 September!
