“Oh my, are these salted eggs laid by golden ducks?” I asked myself after popping these chips uncontrollably in my mouth, and then proceeding to finish an entire bag within a day. These are so good, I’ve got to share it with the world. Or maybe not. Because I heard these amazing chips get sold out pretty fast!
I know most of my readers LOVE salted egg anything, because I can see you guys going mad with my ULTIMATE list here and the most recent post here! Hence, in line with Explodingbelly’s motto – good things must share, comes the following post.
I’ve never tried any salted egg chips before because I’m skeptical about how good they can taste. I usually prefer my salted egg dishes with the molten kind of salted egg lava, so the thought of having salted egg flavor or the dried salted egg crumbs did not really appeal to me! I finally had the chance to try out TGD’s salted egg chips after my friend surprised me with it, and I was of course, excited to see how good it tastes, as I’ve heard TONS of positive reviews about them!
Packaged in a cute paper bag, these chips will be SURE to satisfy those salted egg cravings you may have. There are salted egg crumbs, curry leaves and even dried chili bits within to give you an AUTHENTIC salted egg experience. It’s crazy.
I thought the little bits of crumbs, leaves and chili were the ones that gave the flavor, BUT those are not just it! Even having a chip on its own would knock your tastebuds off with the salted egg flavor. You can imagine how good and how flavorful these are. Even LAYS or any kind of potato chips can’t even coat their chips THIS evenly.
I finished this within a day. I felt fat. But that didn’t matter. Haha! I thought the portion was quite small for its price, $7 a pack, but it’s worth it. In this picture, I’ve probably devoured 1/4 of the servings within, so it’s not an accurate representation. HAHA!
Okay, after so much hype and talk, let me tell you where you guys can get these. The Golden Duck does not have any physical stores but you can order them online here, or you can buy them off the shelves at 3 different places:
MPORIUM, Suntec City North Atrium (Tower 1 and 2) – don’t be fooled by the pretty clothes they sell and think I gave you the wrong place. HAHA! Yes, they do have salted egg chips on their shelves!
QUARTERS Hostel, Level 1 Café, located at 12 Circular Road.
NOOK Café & Bar, 21 Lorong Kilat #01-03, Bukit Timah
