I know I know I’m on a budget streak. Haha! While some of you may have heard about Fassler, I realized that many others haven’t, judging from my recent post on Instagram. Hence, I made yet another trip back to the outlet at Tiong Bahru to snap some pictures for this particular post! Such dedication. *flicks hair*
I’ve first heard of Fassler a couple of years ago as they were known to sell really, really cheap seafood and salmon sashimi at wholesale prices! However, the downside was that they had their factory opened at Woodlands, like many other factories, so… I thought it wasn’t worth the effort for me to spend 2 hours on the bus just to get cheap sashimi. Just 2 years ago, Fassler has expanded and landed at one of my most frequented areas – Tiong Bahru!
Guess what, they are just around the corner of my all time favorite pasta stall – Ah Bong’s Italian and pastry stall – Tiong Bahru Bakery. OH MY GOSH! You’ll definitely be able to spot them as they are located just behind the Block 55 bus stop, a few units down from Glacier, the old school bakery!
Fassler at Tiong Bahru is wholly a retail store. Although they have freshly sliced sashimi for you to take out, they do not allow you to sit within the store (I checked), even though they have seats within. Cannot sit then why put seats leh?
Besides the sashimi, they’ve got a wide array of seafood selections like…
These. And these, frozen shrimps, scallops etc. Perfect for meal prep! Various salmon parts. Balls galore. Condiments section. The smoked salmon which were really affordable, probably $3+ cheaper than what you can get at supermarkets.
Let me show you what 500grams looks like. It’s a lot. We couldn’t finish amongst us 2 gluttons. No soy sauce nor wasabi would be provided with purchase. You want, you go buy the bottled ones from them.
While this was really affordable, I thought I’d rather pay a little more for better quality sashimi. This one was slightly off in terms of its freshness, and less chunky than I would like it to be! Nonetheless, it would be a quick fix for any sashimi craving. Besides, if you’re looking to meal prep, or to stock up your fridge or even prepare for your steamboat, I’d suggest Fassler to you as their stuff seems to be priced much more affordably than supermarkets and possibly with a wider range of seafood as well!
For better quality salmon, if you wish, you can always head across the road to Teru Sushi for their all day $1 oysters and super shiok salmon sashimi!
Oh if you would require deliver, you can always visit their online retail store HERE! Orders above $150 get free delivery hor! Perfect for parties!
