While Cinnamoroll is not as popular in Singapore as the other Sanrio characters like GUDETAMA or Hello Kitty, this fluffy white puppy (15 years old liao still puppy, bu yao lian [buay paiseh]) is sure to capture many of our hearts with its SUPER ADORABLE WHITE FLUFFY OUTLOOK, blue eyes and a CINNAMON ROLL-like tail. That’s why he’s called CINNAMOROLL.

E0FBBCFC-A688-4A6E-85DC-53AA4E188769Cinnamoroll is the 2nd most popular sanrio character in Japan hor!

Set in Singapore’s FIRST EVER Halal-certified Japanese-French restaurant, Kumoya, this is an opportunity for you guys to go CRAZY with the selfies with the beautifully crafted food (by none other than the super crazy capable Shirley @littlemissbento and the Kumoya team), as well as the carefully curated interiors filled with the cute cotton puppies everywhere, even on their tables! Let me walk you guys through this limited time only cafe in this post:

THE INTERIOR

Okay, this one is the exterior, apologies for the crappy picture because it was raining and it was crowded outside.

You can find these cute plushies lying around the cafe, literally. But don't go hug it if you are visiting the cafe after awhile, can you imagine the hundreds of people hugging it before you? HAHA

Ooooh here's another plush!

This is how the counter looks like and the entire cafe is splashed with baby blue

When you enter the cafe, you’ll be overwhelmed by the adorable-ness of this entire cafe, splashed with baby blue and Cinnamoroll characters!

THE MENU!

Now, for the menu, they’ve specially curated the mains, desserts and beverages to include Cinnamoroll into their all-time favorite waffles and parfaits.

For a character cafe, I thought their price range was rather reasonable, maintaining from $7.90 to $21.90! Take note, there’s a minimum spending of $10 hor!

THE FOOD

I only tried a few of the dishes because I’m getting fat and I’m watching my diet as usual. Hahahahaha! I think the waffle still fared the BEST!

Happy Happy Heart Chicken Karaage with Waffles ($19.90)E9075E80-0433-468D-B577-36D393DAE239This is similar to the one that they do serve on their regular menu, accessorized by the custom made cinnamoroll bun (shipped from Malaysia hor), and the effortful HEART SHAPED tomatoes, which look like butt.

I still love their crisp waffle and that sweet shoyu glaze which gives the entire dish a good sweet and savory kick. I LIKE! If there was one dish I’d recommend for a satisfying and cute meal, this would be the to-go order.

Fluffy Dreams Japanese Curry Rice ($21.90)

I ordered this because it looks SO ADORABLE. OMG. That Cinnamoroll is RICE leh! And the Japanese curry is just as I liked it, mildly spicy with a hint of sweetness to it. Quite comforting! I didn’t quite like the rice though because it was like sushi-ish and didnt have much texture to it.

However, much to my surprise, the chunks of brown stuff were actually TEMPURA SALMON pieces. The ratio to flour and salmon were ON POINT. Okay, I was impressed with the salmon.

So far, pretty impressed with the mains and now, on to the dessert.

I didn’t try their parfaits as I’ve tried it previously here, and also cause I wanted something cuter. This looked the cutest of them all and sounded pretty enticing!

FLY IN THE CLOUDS YUZU CHIFFON CAKE ($15.90)

D2DD155C-3DE7-47A2-9055-F8FB9003A09CHaha actually this one look like pasar malam Cinnamoroll HAHA! Didn’t think this was worth the money as the cake was too dense and was just a dense sponge cake. The hint of yuzu was pretty mild and because they had to make the puppy, there were quite a copious amount of cream smeared on to the cake. Hmm. Stick to the parfaits!

If you have friends who are unable to make it, why not buy them some limited edition eclairs:

$13.90 for a set of 4, $7.90 for a set of 2!

DRINKS!

I had a lot of drinks apparently.

Here’s the most photogenic one, and videogenic – head on to @explodingbelly on instagram to see the super nice reverse video!

$14.90 Cinnamoroll Blue Soda5320E5A1-E16E-4C6F-AA59-EF6BA4622677 This was just syrup lor with soda, I didn’t quite any of the nata de coco though, maybe cause I didnt have too much of it because of its sweetness. 207303BE-96A9-426A-8AC7-2360A55E86BB This was what was left after pouring the soda water over it. HEHE!

Kiss Me Sweet Cafe Latte ($8.90)184200D4-2D57-4A86-A016-44A12DCD16FC

Iced Cafe Latte ($9.90)1AC7F4EE-977F-4443-BE78-64EDABD22DB4

The coffee was rather standard la, UCC Japanese coffee beans – not acidic, pleasantly bitter. I liked it!

And.. We’ve come to an end of the experience at Cinnamoroll Cafe! Hope you guys have enjoyed as much as I did, I’m always a sucker for character cafes like this! Be sure to head down to Kumoya at Jalan Klapa from THIS Wednesday (17 May) for the launch of this menu all the way till 13 August!
